The West End Commons is a planned public space for the West End at what is currently a mostly empty triangle of concrete at the northwestern corner of the Lamar & Pacific intersection in Downtown Dallas. The plan is to reconstruct the corner with public amenities and offer some programming to help activate the space. This new plaza will offer residents, workers and DART users a place to relax and enjoy themselves while also reducing the instances of petty crime in the vicinity.
The Friends of the West End Commons is a volunteer organization whose mission is to raise the funds necessary for the project’s construction, as well as oversee all aspects of its completion. The City of Dallas has very limited funding available for new parks, so our goal is to raise the necessary funding entirely through donations and grants. Phase one of the project has been completed, but we still need YOUR help to raise $200k to complete the redesigned space in its entirety.
Community-minded individuals looking to support the West End Commons project have multiple ways to do so. Individuals can join the Friends of the West End Commons as members for as low as $25 annually. Donations of other amounts are, of course, also accepted. Memberships and donations are an easy way to show your support for the project! Donations are tax deductible and can be made via the link below:
Make sure you designate the West End Commons Project Fund as the specific recipient of your donation in the drop down list of funds on the donation page!
